Play Doh, slime, model magic and clay are endlessly fun and fascinating. Kids and adults relieve stress, build fine motor skills and grip strength and create with the confidence that it can all be squished up and made again if it didn't work out the first time. A good time to talk and tell stories, catch up on events and blow off some steam.

if you don’t have any on hand here is an easy recipe

2 cups all purpose flour

3 4 cup salt

4 tsp cream of tartar <or 3 tablespoons lemon juice>

2 cups lukewarm water

2 Tbsp veg oil

food coloring

place all dry ingredients in a saucepan and slowly add water and oil while heating over medium heat. stir until smooth. let cool and and divide dough into 4 or 5 balls. add food colouring and play

 

Tips for stay at home art


01 : Play Doh cookies.

02 : ingredients

Play Doh, rolling pin, cookie cutters, plastic knife, ravioli cutter, garlic press, placemat or table covering

03 : cover your table. roll out dough with hands, then roll flat with rolling pin. cut out fun shapes with cookie cutters. put small balls of dough in garlic press and squeeze. use the little dough noodles to decorate your cookies. add decorative flair with the ravioli cutter. squish and start again.

04 : pro tip let your child do it themselves. If you want to join in the fun, make your own cookies. Remember less is more when it comes to advice and criticism. We are exploring and gaining fine motor skills while we have fun.
